It’s year end - let’s chat depreciation!
Kia kaha to all those Accountants and Finance teams out there - what a year!
Last year, both the New Zealand and Australian government’s announced covid measures - many of which will impact your tax bills for FY20/21.
Take a quick watch of this video and don’t forget to chat to your accounting or Finance teams about this.
Let’s talk about traffic management
Driving around Industrial parks, you’ll know that not all traffic bumps are created equal. We wanted to find the best traffic bump design to avoid the most jarring on a car.
Lesson to all pavement engineers out there - the wider the better.
Exemplar A: Good traffic bump. “So smooooooth”
Exemplar B: Bad traffic bump. “Holy cow - what was that? Are my tyres ok?”
Solid state batteries are getting more interesting
According to the Financial Times, Solid state technology is starting to progress.
“The next-generation power source, so-called for the thin layer of solid electrolytes that replace the flammable liquid solution in current lithium-ion batteries, can store energy far more densely.”
We’ve been following it for a little while after reading about the advances back in 2018.
Toyota has been really active in this space and have announced a new car using the technology to be launched this year.
But how does it differ from lithium-ion? And how is it likely to affect you?
The technology is still in roll-out phase - but could influence decisions on solar investments, residential energy storage and the powering of home appliances.
